Do Now:
NHD STUDENTS- sit together so we can register for NHD
Everyone else- READ lessons on PROPORTION and IMPROVING YOUR ARTWORK

Classwork:
Create TWO designs

1. Demonstrate BAD proportion, unbalanced, no contrast
2. DEMONSTRATE GOOD proportion, balance, and shows contrast

Homework: Bring in or take a pic of good proportion and one of bad proportion

Repetition and Alignment

Do Now: Show your homework images on CONTRAST

Classwork:

1. Read the lessons on REPETITION and ALIGNMENT
2. GO to GLOGSTER DO NOT create an account; click
3. Design a poster that uses what you learned about repetition, alignment and contrast

Do Now: Read through the CONTRAST LESSON

Choice #1: Use MS Word and Google image search to create a collage of images that demonstrate contrast in • size • value • color • type • texture • shape • alignment • direction • movement

Choice #2: Create an original artwork in Google Draw, Photshop.com, or sumopaint.com that demonstrates at least FOUR types of CONTRAST (• size • value • color • type • texture • shape • alignment • direction • movement)

HOMEWORK: Bring in one or more images (cell pic or ads, magazine, etc) that demonstrate CONTRAST

Homework: Continue to collect visually interesting photos, ads, and objects for nextweek's design project. Think about who you would like to work with. AT LEAST 4 items/photos DUE TOMORROW (FRI FEB 3)

Objectives: Students will gain a beginning understanding of layout, composition, color, and other elements of graphic design
Students will share what is visually interesting to them, as well as their final products.
