Do Now: Send an email to mirandagt2014@gmail.com with 3-5 things you learned about how money effected your NHD topic

Classwork: Begin researching the politics o fyour time period. Who was in charge? Who was opposed to the leadership? Who agreed with the leadership? How did the conflict or compromise in the politcal sphere effect your NHD topic?

Homework: Read 20 pages in your library book on your NHD topic. If you do not have a book yet, read 20 pages online.

Aristotle: Causes of revolution in politics

Use dictionary.com to define any terms you do not know (qualitative, polity, oligarchy, antagonism)

On your google docs, write about what causes revolutions according to Aristotle. How are the causes different in democracies, oligarchies, and aristocracies?
How does this apply to your NHD topic?

Begin researching the factors that contributed to your NHD revolution.

  • Independent practice on finding information and books on the free library site
  • Putting a hold a book you need for research (use your pin)
  • EMAIL mirandagt2014@gmail.com with at LEAST 3 books (TITLE, AUTHOR, CALL #) on your NHD topic

Homework:
  1. Choose one current event (Jobs death, Occupy Philly, Nobel prize awarded to 3 women, etc) and think about how these events will be seen in 30 years.(DUES TUES OCT 11)
  2. Go to the library at check out at least 3 books on your topic (DUE OCT 14)

  2. Read about the Haitian Revolution.

  4. Continue to research your topic.
Homework: Come in with an example of a Revolution (NOT American, French, or Haitian) and an example of a Reform Movement (NOT Civil Rights or Women's Rights).
